Firearms Safety Class

The Oak Brook Police Department is offering a Firearm’s Safety Class for residents and members of the business community. The class is facilitated by two of the department’s firearm’s instructors. Topics that will be covered are:

  • Basic Review of Firearms
  • Firearms Safety
  • Proper Storage of Firearms
  • Firearm Display
  • Illinois Conceal and Carry Laws
  • Illinois Compiled Statutes as Related to Firearms

This Firearms Safety Class is part of the Oak Brook Police Department’s Community Oriented Policing initiative and is designed to improve communication with community members and a partnership within our community. 

There is NO COST to anyone who participates in this class.  

The class will take place on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 between 7:00 PM and 9:00PM in the West Wing Training Room of the village hall. Walk-ins are welcome!

Attendees are not permitted to bring their firearms and there will be no live firing of firearms.

Anyone interested must meet the following criteria:

  1. Must be at least 18 years of age
  2. Must live, work, or be associated with the Village of Oak Brook
  3. The Oak Brook Police Department reserves the right to exclude any applicant from consideration or participation.
