Village President Dr. Gopal Lalmalani has issued a disaster proclamation for the Village of Oak Brook in response to the COVID-19 situation.
By issuing a disaster proclamation, the Village officially activated its Emergency Operations Plan and will continue to work with local, state, and federal partners to respond to the COVID-19 outbreak. President Lalmalani made the proclamation after consultation with the DuPage County Health Department and the DuPage County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.
"This declaration of a state of emergency in Oak Brook, allows the Village to become eligible for additional funding for our operational response. Village management is monitoring the rapidly changing environment and are in constant daily contact with the DuPage County Health Department and the DuPage County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, as well as other local, state and federal agencies to minimize the impact of COVID-19 on our Village. As a physician, I want to stress the seriousness of the situation and encourage all our residents to utilize the best public health practices for everyone safety."
