Construction has begun on the Oak Brook Commons redevelopment project that will consist of a retail, restaurant, multi-family residential, office and hotel uses on approximately 17.47-acres of property on the northeast corner of 22nd Street and Spring Road. The multi-family components of the redevelopment proposal include a 17-story, 250-unit rental apartment building and two (2), 14-story residential condominium buildings with up to 104 for-sale units. The three (3) multi-family buildings will provide off-street parking in parking decks within each of the buildings. The 250-unit rental apartment building and a restaurant are expected to be built first.
McDonald’s former Oak Brook headquarters is being demolished to make way for a $500 million development project.
