[ARCHIVED] Village Building Closures and Meeting Cancellations

CoronusVirusCancellation

The Village continues to closely monitor the emergence of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). The Village Board meeting scheduled for next Tuesday, March 24th and the Planned Development Commission Meeting on Thursday, March 26th have been cancelled.

Effective as of Tuesday, March 17th the Butler Government Center (Village Hall), and Public Works facility have been closed to the public through Tuesday, April 7th when we will reassess the state of the pandemic. The Police Department will remain open for walk-in services using the red lobby phone. Our Records personnel will work with our residents and follow the COVID-19 guidelines put in place with the DuComm 911 call procedures. Otherwise, the Village Hours of Operation for employees will remain the same. If this should change, we will notify employees immediately. The Oak Brook Public Library is also closed through Tuesday April 7, 2020. All due dates have been extended until May 1, 2020.

The Village made these decisions based upon guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) in order to begin implementing appropriate ‘social distancing’ precautions into our Village operations so that we may protect the health, safety, and well-being of our residents and employees, while also continuing to maintain essential Village functions and emergency response services. As a local government, it is our shared responsibility to try to mitigate the effects of COVID-19 by following the recommendations of federal and state public health officials.
