[ARCHIVED] Oak Brook Police Department Crime Prevention Reminder

OBPD Patch

The Oak Brook Police Department is alerting homeowners to be vigilant in the prevention of residential burglaries.  The village has recently seen an increase in residential burglaries both in our community and the surrounding areas.  Police are reminding residents be call 911 immediately to report any suspicious people or vehicles that are parked in the neighborhoods, including vehicles with no license plates affixed.  You may also send an email to crimetips@oak-brook.org

The most common identified timeframes of these recent burglaries is between noon and 6 p.m.  The most common method of entry has been by breaking a rear sliding door.  The installation of Ring doorbells and spot lights are effective deterrents to make your residence a hard target.  The Police Department has increased both marked and unmarked patrols of our residential areas.  If you have any suspicions, never hesitate to contact the Police Department immediately.  Thank you.
